Providing Individual and Relationship Counselling

Elizabeth is a registered social worker and clinical counsellor with over 30 years of professional experience. Elizabeth has worked with numerous problems across diverse populations including, but not limited to, relationship issues, work place concerns, teenage issues, and personal issues which can negatively impact our daily functioning and ultimately our ability to reach for our full potential in life. Elizabeth utilizes her education, life experience and working from a generalized model of intervention drawing from a wide range of psychology and neuroscience to assist you to attain your goals.

With an interest in assisting couples attain and maintain healthy relationships Elizabeth began studying the Gottman Method in 2012 completing levels 1, 2 and 3 training and recognized the impact it could have for couples. She has worked primarily with this model since that time while also including Dr Sue Johnson’s model of Emotionally focused therapy, a model compatible with the Gottman method.

Elizabeth utilizes an honest, open approach with clients and will identify /suggest problem issues and share these with clients as they arise to ensure ongoing progress in the counselling process.

Elizabeth does not believe in counselling sessions that continue indefinitely rather there must be a goal in mind and clients and counsellor working together to achieve this. Regular check ins are welcomed as initiated by the client in order to address new circumstances or further problem issues and to maintain healthy functioning both individually and within our relationships.
